Berlin/Essen/Helsinki, May 10, 2013 – Oy Roberts Ab, a family-owned company producing and providing food products for over a hundred years have appointed DB Schenker Logistics in Finland for the storage and distribution of their food products. The products range includes jams, marmalades, fillings, dessert sauces and flavours as well as raw materials and semi-manufactured product supplies for bakeries.
“In order to focus our company’s effort on our core business and gain flexibility in terms of resourcing, space and warehousing requirements we decided to look for a partner providing us with a full logistics solution. DB Schenker was able to provide us with a good complete package,” says Mikko Roberts, Managing Director of Oy Roberts Ab.
Roberts products will be stored in a dedicated facility located in the DB Schenker logistics center complex in Turku. 2,600 square meters of temperature controlled warehouse area, +5°C and +18°C will be used for logistics operations for Roberts, including value added services such as sample taking and special packing.
“DB Schenker has gained substantial growth in the field of contract logistics in Finland in the recent years. In our Turku logistics center alone, we service the automotive industry, household goods business, and now fast moving consumer goods,” says Jouni Sopula, Managing Director of Schenker Cargo Oy. “In November 2012 we opened a brand new logistics center of 24,500 square meters in Nurmijärvi, in the capital area of Finland, focusing on the automotive industry.”
