Appleton, WI, July 19, 2013 – WSI, a leading national third-party logistics provider (3PL), was recently selected to handle national supply chain management for Namaste Laboratories, a producer of natural hair care products.
WSI will support Namaste with comprehensive 3PL services, including warehousing, distribution and order fulfillment. The 3PL identified a key strategic location at their Matteson, IL facility, which will position Namaste’s inventory closer to its end customers while taking advantage of WSI’s transportation network to improve service and lower costs. The centralized location, just minutes south of Chicago, will provide a network hub for Namaste’s products to provide reliable order fulfillment nationwide.
WSI will also provide value-added services such as order fulfillment, EDI, pick/pack, retail compliance, freight savings, and the ability to scale up as Namaste adds new customers. This additional third party support will help keep Namaste’s service levels at the top of the industry, while expanding their national footprint. In addition to the value-added services, WSI will manage the Matteson space for Namaste. Daniel Johnston, project manager from WSI, stated, “We are modifying our Matteson facility to accommodate Namaste’s product. Once finished, we will have a significant section dedicated to Namaste, with multiple dock doors and high-efficiency lighting. To service the Namaste account, we will utilize pick-to-voice technology and 5K double- EE-rated lift trucks with LXE truck-mounted PTV units. Our employees will be trained in this technology, and together with added transportation efficiencies, we hope to reduce Namaste’s transit and delivery time from distribution center to retail store by 40%.”
