Berlin/Essen/Beringe, February 21, 2013 – SolarEdge, one of the leading providers of solar power optimization solutions for residential, commercial and large-scale photovoltaic system installations, has nominated DB Schenker Logistics in the Netherlands to be their Logistics Service Provider (LSP) in Europe.
DB Schenker has implemented and is now running a dedicated logistics solution for SolarEdge including the operation of a European Distribution Center in Beringe, The Netherlands as well as the distribution of products to SolarEdge retailers and installers throughout Europe, leveraging DB Schenker’s land transportation network.
The distribution center primarily serves to store finished goods and create solution kits. The solution kits are being built in a dedicated work station area. This provides SolarEdge with the required flexibility in fulfilling their different order types for each European destination.
In choosing DB Schenker in Europe, Solar Edge is building on the successful relationship the two companies already have in place in Israel. “We are looking forward to further developing and establishing a global and dedicated customer support for SolarEdge in a next step,” says Joachim Marxer, Vice President Global Vertical Market Semicon/Solar, Schenker AG.
Together with Israeli partner Orian, DB Schenker is transporting SolarEdge’s inbound and outbound shipments in and out Israel since July 2010, as well as managing the freight shipments from Europe and China to the US.
