Berlin/Essen/Tilburg, June 4, 2013 – Roland DG, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet for visual Communication, printers and 3D engraving and milling devices, has appointed DB Schenker to act as its sole logistics service supplier in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa). DB Schenker Logistics in the Netherlands will consolidate the storage and distribution of Roland DG products in their logistics center located in Tilburg.
Previously, Roland DG had five business units in the EMEA region that were all responsible for supplying the regions in which they were located. In 2012, Roland DG EMEA was founded as a collaboration company to streamline these supplies and to function as the liaison between Roland DG Japan and these business units.
As part of this initiative, Roland DG EMEA was looking for a logistics partner with capabilities to fit to their new EMEA strategy. “The service offering of DB Schenker and the strategic location of their distribution center, complements and fits perfectly to our newly established regional operational model. We are looking forward to working together,” says José Rosales, Supply Chain Manager at Roland DG EMEA.
DB Schenker will be responsible for the supply chain of Roland DG EMEA including warehousing, transportation and supply chain management activities. Among others, these activities comprise value added services such as relabeling and kitting, special oversize machine carriage, i.e. 3D plotters and transportation management.
