DB Schenker Logistics opens new office in Sochi, host city of the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2014

Support for the projects in regards to Sochi 2014 • National network of DB Schenker Logistics in Russia now covers 22 cities

DBSCHENKER125(Berlin/Essen/Moscow, September 6, 2012) ZAO Schenker, the Russian country organization of DB Schenker Logistics, has launched a new office in Sochi. There is a high level of business activity in the region due to ongoing preparation to the upcoming Olympic Games in 2014.

“This new branch will allow us to support businesses of our global and local customers, who have projects linked to the games in 2014 and coming events in the newly constructed sport and events cluster in Sochi,” said Anatoly Gvozdev, Managing Director, ZAO Schenker. “Also it will strengthen our domestic network in this rapidly growing region.”

The Sochi branch will provide services for clients mostly focused on sports events logistics: consulting, logistics project management; road, rail, air and ocean freight to and from destination Sochi; customs clearance (including temporary import, ATA Carnet, etc.); provision of handling equipment, etc.

ZAO Schenker was established in 1992. Today, the national network covers 22 cities all over Russia. With more than 800 employees, the company offers the full range of logistics services and is fully integrated in the global DB Schenker network.
