CEVA signs new partnership with Carraro Drive Tech

CEVA to centralize spare parts logistics operations

CEVA125Milan, Italy, 13 June 2012 – CEVA Logistics, a leading global supply chain management company, has signed a six year contract with Carraro Drive Tech, a world leader in power transmission systems for agricultural and construction equipment  and a part of Carraro Group.Under the contract, CEVA will provide the customer with sophisticated logistics solutions from its warehouse in Monselice, near Padova, within which Carraro Drive Tech, has opened its new spare parts headquarters, which was inaugurated today.

At this location, CEVA will handle the spare parts for agricultural and construction machines equipped with Carraro’s axles and transmissions and for tractors produced by Carraro’s Agritalia division based in Rovigo, managing the unloading, storage, picking, packaging and preparation of shipments to Carraro’s final customers across the world, handling approximately 37,000 items for more than 200,000 anticipated orders each year. CEVA, whose approach is based on Operations Excellence, will also offer high added value solutions, such as kitting services for the assembly and disassembly activities.

CEVA will provide Carraro with its expertise and project management capabilities in order to improve the customer’s spare parts logistics process, previously managed across two sites, within a single warehouse, thus optimizing the activities. A dedicated area of 6,600 sq m area within the hub of Monselice will be set aside for Carraro’s operations, with flexibility of space to respond to and accommodate the customer’s changing needs over the time. A surface area of 600 sq m will also host offices for Carraro’s personnel. In addition, the logistics operator will provide an advanced and efficient Warehouse Management System capable of fully integrating and interacting with the information system already used by the customer.
