New contract for through-the-night aftermarket deliveries
CEVA’s automotive network delivers many benefits to Suzuki including enhanced service levels and increased product safety as parts are delivered using roll cages. In addition, the solution reduces Suzuki’s carbon footprint by approximately 13% per annum through improved vehicle usage and delivers both environmental and financial savings.
Wayne Dye, Suzuki’s General Manager Parts and Accessories, commented: “During our long standing relationship with CEVA our partnership has evolved in many ways, including the introduction of double deck trailers and sophisticated IT systems. By working with CEVA and its other automotive customers we are joining an established automotive network which will improve cost efficiency and deliver higher service levels for our dealerships.”
Key to the successful operation of the service will be CEVA’s In Cab Asset Management track and trace system which monitors all transactions and the movement of roll cages, including all returns and reverse logistics, allowing real time visibility. Dealers will be provided with a web based system to handle enquiries, dealer warranty and returns tracking.
Simon Hobbs, CEVA’s Vice President, Automotive in the UK, said: “We are very pleased that Suzuki has renewed this contract with CEVA. This contract win is testimony to our commitment to Operations Excellence and our extensive experience in this sector. Our shared user network is making over 1,000 deliveries each day nationwide, this equates to around 3,000 roll cages or loose items, and the scale and efficiency will further improve as we add more automotive customers.”
Earlier this year, CEVA invested in a new vehicle fleet of 56 vehicles and 11 double-deck trailers to support continued growth in its UK shared user automotive network.
