The annual awards are a GM initiative to recognize the work of suppliers that support the company’s achievements throughout the year. In total, 6,800 suppliers competed in categories such as direct materials, indirect materials, replacement parts and logistics. The event has been held since 1973 and is currently in its 39th year.
