Geodis appoints Leif Voelcker as Managing director India

Geodis announces the appointment of Leif Voelcker as Managing Director of Geodis India. Leif will be also responsible for managing Geodis’ South Asian Cluster organization.

GEODIS125In his new role, Leif Voelcker will be responsible for the growth & development of the company in one of its markets of strategic focus. Within the next five years Geodis aims to grow its business to double its present size in India. Currently it operates a network of 15 offices with 300+ employees serving one of the world’s most dynamic markets.

“I am keen to strengthen the relationship with our local customer base that is benefiting from the strong growth of the Indian economy and the consequent increase in domestic demand and international transport requirements,” comments Leif Voelcker. “Geodis is leveraging on this development. We are ideally positioned as a growth partner for companies that do business in and with India.” Geodis main activities in India include International Freight Forwarding, Value-Added Services, Industrial Projects and Vertical Market Solutions with full control and visibility through the Geodis’ eSolutions. 

With over 21 years experience in freight forwarding, Leif Voelcker has built up a distinguished career and strong competence in project logistics.  He started his career in 1992 in Germany and later on he joined Rohde & Liesenfeld in 2003 as Managing Director Colombia, before the company was acquired by Geodis Wilson in 2007. He replaces Rene Bach-Larsen, who has taken up the role of Managing Director for Geodis Wilson in Singapore, from where he is also handling the group’s activities in South-East Asia area.
