Focus on developing Production Vendor Managed Inventory installations for the Electronics and Industrial Manufacturing sectors
(Berlin/Singapore/Essen, May 25, 2012) DB Schenker sets up its first global Solution Competence Center outside of Europe. Approximately three million euros will be invested in technology and specialised expertise to develop, support, implement and manage the Production Vendor Managed Inventory (PVMI) solution. With a traditional strength and market reputation within the Electronics PVMI area already established in Asia-Pacific, the Competence Center in Singapore will be the base camp for numerous supply chain experts to engage with customers. The specialists will support development of the solution, and accelerate the roll-out of customized manufacturing logistics solutions for customers within Asia, and also other parts of the globe.

The PVMI team is scheduled grow to over 20 specialists to support PVMI installations by over ten per year over the next five years, supporting a planned revenue growth of over 150 million euros.
