Lombard, Illinois USA (June 20, 2012)–The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) will offer four interactive, pre-conference workshops on Sunday, September 30, 2012 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The events will be held prior to the start of CSCMP’s Annual Global Conference at the Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, Georgia, USA. The conference runs from September 30 to October 3, 2012.
Workshops include three new sessions, Building and Maintaining Business Relationships, Leveraging Supply Chain Management for Enterprise Development, and Supply Chain Risk Mitigation. The “New” Fundamentals: What Matters Now in Supply Chain Management is back by popular demand. Each workshop includes networking opportunities and breakfast and lunch.
Building and Maintaining Business Relationships will provide tools and techniques for building, maintaining, and rescuing business relationships and creating high-trust, high-performance alliances at individual, team, and corporate levels. The session will conclude with a real world case that has practical supply chain application. The workshop will be presented by Jo Ann Muniz, vice president, supply chain, Philadelphia Gas Works, and Sallie Sherman, chief executive officer, S4 Consulting, Inc.
Leveraging Supply Chain Management for Enterprise Development will offer participants a higher level examination of how to use supply chain management techniques to elevate performance, communicate supply chain issues to senior management, and relate supply chain initiatives to corporate strategic directions. Attendees can expect to take home a clear picture of how and where supply chain management can move the needles of financial performance. Tom Freese, principal, Freese & Associates, Inc. and Steve Geary, president, Supply Chain Visions, Inc. are the workshop facilitators.
The six key elements of supply chain management fundamentals critical to organizations will be covered in The “New” Fundamentals workshop. The program will focus on the actual scope and range of today’s security responsibilities and techniques, strategies to stay connected to your company and to leverage supply chain management to support the end game, and the efforts and investment needed to build and maintain relationships with strategic customers, suppliers, and service providers. Workshop instructors will be Ken Ackerman, president, K.B. Ackerman Company, and Art van Bodegraven, practice leader, S4 Consulting.
Supply Chain Risk Mitigation will explore the common occurrence of supply chain disruptions that companies face on a daily basis that can have dramatic financial consequences. The program will highlight key sources of supply chain risks and will provide mitigation techniques that attendees can take away for practical application in their own organizations. Richard Sharpe, chief executive officer, Competitive Insights, LLC will serve as the workshop facilitator.
Participants are not required to register for CSCMP’s annual conference in order to attend a pre-conference workshop. The cost of each workshop is $499.00 US. CSCMP members pay $399.00 US; CSCMP associate members: $299.00 US; CSCMP student members: $199.00 US.
