Con-way Inc. Names 2012 CEO Constellation Award Recipients

Company Honors Five with Highest Employee Recognition

CON WAY125ANN ARBOR, Mich. – June 19, 2012 – Con-way Inc. (NYSE:CNW) today announced that five outstanding employees have been named recipients of the CEO Constellation Award, the highest honor bestowed by the company to recognize exemplary employees.

In its sixth year, this employee recognition program draws from thousands of submitted candidates who were nominated by their peers as employees who best exemplify the company’s core values of safety, integrity, commitment and excellence.

“The Con-way CEO Constellation Awards recognize the talent, skill, leadership and teamwork of outstanding employees,” said Douglas W. Stotlar, president and CEO, Con-way Inc. “Our people are the foundation of this company and their commitment to our culture and core values sustains the value we deliver to our customers and shareholders every day. It is truly an honor to recognize these exemplary employees for their innovation, achievements and superior performance.”

The five winners were chosen from 10 finalists drawn from a group of 21 President’s Award winners. The 21 President’s Award recipients were selected from 260 Quarterly Leader Award (QLA) recipients, the names of whom were drawn from thousands of nominations submitted by employees. CEO Constellation Award winners each receive a sculptured crystal vase inscribed with their name, a monetary prize and a lifetime of recognition within the company. Awards were presented last week by Mr. Stotlar and his executive leadership team at a special recognition event.

Con-way’s 2012 CEO Constellation Award winners are:

Elaine Blair, Senior Business Analyst, Menlo Worldwide Logistics, Aurora, Ill.:
Ms. Blair joined Menlo Worldwide Logistics in May 2010 as a planner and was promoted to senior business analyst in January 2011. She is recognized for her proactive and strategic involvement in the development and enhancement of Menlo’s next-generation Transportation Management System, as well as leading successful training, implementation and testing initiatives for Menlo and its customers. Ms. Blair is known for demonstrating outstanding efficiency, creativity, communication and consistency with a supportive and positive attitude.

Bob Dolan, Driver Sales Representative, Con-way Freight, Allentown, Pa.:
In 10 years and more than 750,000 miles of driving, Robert “Bob” Dolan has remained accident-free. During that time, he has won two National Truck Driving Championships (NTDC) titles and five state titles. A true role model to his peers, he exemplifies the company’s commitment to safety and integrity and is dedicated to helping fellow drivers achieve the same. He is admired for his diverse talents, honesty, humility and open mind. Mr. Dolan is a member of the Pennsylvania Road Team and involved in several committees and training programs throughout the organization.

In this role, she took the chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) from Washington, D.C. on a “ride along” through the initial four-hour leg of the Chairman’s journey to last year’s Mid-America Trucking Show in Kentucky.
