Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 21 March 2012 – CEVA Logistics, one of the world’s leading supply chain companies, has signed a five year contract with Nasser Bin Abdullatif Alserkal Est., one of the biggest importers and distributors of major tire brands.CEVA will be responsible for the management of all Alserkal’s outbound logistics and tire distribution across the region, which will be managed from an 8,000 sq m space in CEVA’s number four site, located in the Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai. Ahmad Alserkal, Managing Director of Nasser Bin Abdullatif Alserkal Est., Bridgestone Tires Division, said: “Our strategic aim is to centralize all our logistics functions, so we benefit from streamlined activities, improved operational efficiency and can focus on our core business of tire trading, as well as building strong relationships with our customers. CEVA’s excellent solutions designed for this specific sector and its knowledge of the characteristics of this complex market will allow us to improve the efficiency of our supply chain management, reducing costs.”
One additional factor in Alserkal’s appointment of CEVA was the state-of-the art green warehouse where the customer’s goods will be stored and managed with minimum impact on the environment. CEVA’s number four site in Dubai was recently awarded the prestigious LEED Gold certification, an internationally recognized green building certification demonstrating that the facility is equipped with advanced and efficient eco-sustainable solutions. The site is part of the wide network of warehouses CEVA has in the Middle East, a strategic area where the operator is investing in order to further consolidate its presence in the region.
