Prague, Czech Republic, 27 July 2011, CEVA Logistics, one of the world’s leading supply chain companies, has reached an Operations Excellence milestone, with all CEVA’s locations in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary certified for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and all Contract Logistics sites for OHSAS 18001.  Hungary has also been awarded Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status in recognition of its high security standards. The ISO 9001 certification, established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), recognizes transparent, integrated and standardized quality management across all functions, including commercial, operations and finance.

The ISO 14001 is a global standard for environmental management systems, to help organizations reduce their environmental footprint.  This accreditation highlights how CEVA has implemented best practice throughout its business in Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary to minimize any impact its operations may have on the environment.

The OHSAS 18001 standard, (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Specification), stipulates the requirements for occupational health and safety, and has been designed to be compatible with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, to help organizations meet their health and safety obligations in an efficient manner.

“The ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications are very important accreditations for CEVA, demonstrating our Impeccable Execution credo. Achieving the standard set by these global management systems shows our commitment to quality, the environment, safety and security in the countries we operate in,” said Martin Kiaba, CEVA’s Director for Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

The AEO concept constitutes a main element of the Customs Security Program of the European Union and measures CEVA’s compliance in ISO, Security, HR and Finance. Approved parties with AEO status benefit from customs simplifications and fast-tracking of applications which allow CEVA to offer leading Customs   solutions and be competitive in the brokerage marketplace.

“The AEO certification is a very important accreditation for CEVA,” said Mate Szombathelyi, CEVA’s Managing Director for Hungary. “AEO has helped us to raise compliance levels and improve existing internal controls. Overall, the AEO certification is reassurance for our customers that CEVA is a company that can be trusted to provide operational excellence in Freight Management.”

All certifications are valid for three years and will undergo annual maintenance audits.
