Supply Chain Transparency, and How It Can Help the Planet

Sustainability is an increasingly important subject. Consumers are getting more critical every day when it comes to what they buy and who they buy it from. This effect is trickling down to supply chains as well, where there is also a growing demand for sustainable processes and products.

Consumers that want to change there buying behaviour to enable a more sustainable way of life run into problems. It is very hard to find out where a product actually comes from, how it was produced, or how the raw materials or parts were sourced. When you buy fish, do you know where it was caught, and how?

OpenSC is trying to solve this problem. It’s founder Markus Mutz recently held an interesting TED Talk about how supply chain transparency helps save the planet. I recommend watching it:

And let’s face it. Our planet needs saving.
