CSCMP to Host First-Ever Educational Track Focused on Young Supply Chain Management Professionals at Annual Conference

CSCMP125Lombard, Illinois USA (July 18, 2012)–The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) will present an entire track of educational sessions created exclusively for students and individuals 30 years of age and under who have recently entered the supply chain management profession at CSCMP’s Annual Global Conference 2012. The event will be held from September 30 to October 3, 2012 in Atlanta, Georgia.The Young Professionals in Supply Chain Managementtrack was developed to provide younger talent with the knowledge and skills necessary to advance their careers and bring more value to their organizations. Sessions will include presentations on talent management, career navigation, new technology integration, and negotiation. Each session will be facilitated by one or more industry experts.”Our young leaders are the future of the profession and CSCMP,” said Kathy McInerney, CSCMP’s education and research assistant and staff liaison to its Young Professionals’ Committee. “One of our goals has been to provide younger professionals with unparalleled opportunities to get a head start on their careers. That’s why we’ve hosted a Young Professionals’ Panel session at our last three annual conferences. This year, however, we saw the need to develop a complete track dedicated to young talent, focusing on content specifically tailored to their needs.”Mentoring young supply chain management professionals has long been a focus of CSCMP. Beginning with the creation of its Young Professionals’ Committee in 2008, the organization has offered opportunities and programs exclusively for emerging professionals to enable them to make industry connections, identify mentors, and acquire the critical learning, resources, and skills to be successful in their careers.

CSCMP offers reduced registration rates for students and young professionals. The student rate is $330.00 US; CSCMP student members pay $295.00 US. The young professional rate is $1,045; CSCMP associate members (those 30 years of age and under) pay $895.00 US. Registration fees include attendance to networking receptions, two full breakfasts and lunches, beverages between sessions, and conference-wide Wi-Fi access.
