HONG KONG, November 7, 2011 — FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, announced today that it has improved the transit time for inbound shipments to the Greater Tokyo area.
With effect from November 7, 2011 transit times will be reduced by one business day for FedEx International Priority®, FedEx International Priority® Freight, FedEx International Economy® and FedEx International Economy® Freight shipments from all origins around the world. Shipments will be delivered on the same day of their arrival at Narita International Airport.
This improvement is now available in the following areas:
• Tokyo: Machida, Kunitachi, Kodaira and Koganei cities
• Kanagawa prefecture: Ebina, Zama,and Atsugi cities
Totsuka, Hodogaya, Isogo, and Izumi wards in Yokohama city
Chuo and Minami wards in Sagamihara city
• Saitama Prefecture: Niiza, Asaka and Wako cities
FedEx first introduced same day delivery to selected areas in the Greater Tokyo area in April 2010 and since then has been gradually expanding the areas covered by this service.
