Conferences are a great way to meet new people, re-connect or meet with people you already know, and above all, to get inspired and learn. There are a lot of events out there, so to help you choose which ones to visit, I’ve created a list of supply chain and logistics events in Europe in 2022.
If you are looking for an overview of supply chain and logistics events in the United States, then please check out the overview made by Adrian Gonzalez. Adrian is the founder of Talking Logistics, an online video talk show and blog, and the Founder of Indago. Last year I had a great time talking to him about Thought Leadership and the latest trends in logistics when he was a guest in the Does Logistics Matter? Podcast. He gives some excellent advice to his readers about what questions you should ask yourself, to decide which ones to attend:
Does the conference agenda align with the key initiatives I’m working on? Do the knowledge, and the information shared at the event match the current initiatives you are working on? Your time is spent most efficiently if you can come back from an event with actionable knowledge. Conferences where many suppliers present themselves can be an excellent opportunity to overview what’s new on the market quickly. Supplier user conferences are perfect for keeping up to date with the latest development and meeting with senior executives to discuss how they can serve you even better.
Will I learn something new, particularly in an area that I don’t know much about today but is critically important for my career and leadership development? Learning new things will give you more opportunities when looking for a new challenge in supply chain and logistics. Like Adrian says, if all you know is transportation, it is good to broaden your horizon by visiting a session on Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) or data analytics.
Does the event promote peer-to-peer learning and networking, or will I spend most of my time sitting through numerous PowerPoint presentations? You get more value if the event also allows exchanging knowledge and advice between visitors.
So, keeping that in mind, please find below a list of supply chain and logistics events. It is by no means complete. If you believe I’ve missed one, send me an e-mail or a message on LinkedIn. Also, please remember that some of these events may be postponed or changed to virtual events with the pandemic still on. Let’s hope we can all meet face to face again this year.
