Deutsche Post DHL has been distinguished with two prizes for its 2010 report on corporate responsibility. The consulting company Lundquist awarded Deutsche Post DHL first place in the DAX-30 ranking for best CSR online communications as well as the “CSR Online Award Germany 2011”.In the ranking of the 100 largest European companies (FTSE Eurotop 100 Index), Deutsche Post DHL came in second place for its digital communication in the area of sustainability.

“As a global company, we not only want to take on responsibility for social and environmental issues, but also communicate our progress and successes in a transparent way – and new media technologies can be put to good use here. It’s really the only way to power the dialogue on corporate sustainability with all members of society. I am very pleased with this distinction for our report on corporate responsibility and it confirms that we are on the right track,” said Rainer Wend, head of Public Policy and Corporate Responsibility at Deutsche Post DHL.

Jury praised use of social media

Deutsche Post DHL received high marks for both the content and user friendly layout of the “Responsibility” section of its website, which includes the complete Living Responsibility Report 2010. The jury also praised the up-to-date information, the cross linking to other related areas within the website and the use of social media – in particular the video platform YouTube, where one can access Deutsche Post DHL’s own playlist for CR videos (www.youtube.com/deutschepostdhl).

Each year, Deutsche Post DHL publishes the report to inform on progress made in the area of corporate social responsibility, including environmental protection (GoGreen), disaster management (GoHelp) and education (GoTeach). With “Living Responsibility” as its motto, the area of corporate responsibility forms an integral part of Deutsch Post DHL’s corporate strategy.
