Leading Global Distributor to Donate $1 for Every ‘Like’ It Receives
SANTA ANA, CA, Jun 04, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) –Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), the world’s largest technology distributor and supply-chain services provider, today announced it is launching a social media campaign with a goal of raising $10,000 for the American Red Cross. For every ‘Like’ it receives on the Ingram Micro Facebook page, Ingram Micro will donate $1 to the Red Cross, up to $10,000.
“Through social media, we’ve been able to engage with our vendors, customers, resellers, associates, shareholders and the general public on all things Ingram Micro, plus share the latest technology trends and industry news,” said Jo Bandy, senior director, corporate communications, Ingram Micro Inc. “Being a good corporate citizen is an important part of our culture, so it made sense to help raise money through social media while increasing the number of people with whom we engage. The great international relief work the American Red Cross does makes them a perfect fit.”
The promotion runs from June 4 to June 29, 2012, and once it concludes, Ingram Micro will present a check to the local American Red Cross chapter, reflecting the total number of ‘Likes’ received during the campaign. Funds raised will be designated to the International Response Fund, which supports the victims of numerous crises around the world each year, by providing immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other needed support.
