- Cooperation with DHL Express extended for another three years

DHL Express Germany and MDH AG have extended their now ten-year cooperation another three years, effective May 1, 2012. For the first time the market leader in foreign quality dental prosthesis will send around 350,000 carbon neutral DHL Express shipments annually, becoming DHL Express Germany’s largest domestic express GoGreen customer.
All emissions generated by these shipments will be recorded and offset through climate protection projects that Deutsche Post DHL supports as part of its sustainability initiative, for instance, by supporting wind farms in Nicaragua or a biomass power plant in India.
Commitment to environmental protection
For dentists and their patients in Germany, high quality along with professional service is a decisive factor when choosing a dental prosthesis. That’s why around 5,000 dentists in Germany prefer MDH AG and, in turn, DHL Express services. DHL Express picks up the dental impressions made at the dental offices within 90 minutes and delivers them directly to MDH AG. After passing through quality control, the shipment is sent air freight via Frankfurt to the company’s laboratory in China on the same day.
As soon as the manufactured dental prosthesis arrives at MDH AG in Germany and a second quality control has been completed, DHL Express delivers it back to the original dental office. Wolfgang P. Albeck, CEO of DHL Express Germany explains the added service for MDH AG customers: “In addition to purely transporting the goods, our sales team also provides new dentists with an introduction to the shipping procedures on behalf of MDH AG and walks them through the entire logistics process.”

The company’s interim target of a ten percent improvement in energy efficiency by 2012 was achieved a year earlier than planned.
