DHL appoints Amadou Diallo as new Chief Executive Officer for DHL Freight

Thomas Nieszner and Kevin Leung will take responsibility for the business in Africa and South Asia Pacific

Amadou Diallo will be responsible for DHL’s international Road and Rail Freight Forwarding Business.

DHL announced today that Amadou Diallo is taking over as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) DHL Freight from Thomas George who will move to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) DHL Global Forwarding with immediate effect. In his new role, Amadou Diallo will be responsible for DHL’s international Road and Rail Freight Forwarding Business. DHL Freight is a European leader in overland freight forwarding offering high quality services covering more than 50 countries.

So far Amadou Diallo was Chief Executive Officer of DHL Global Forwarding for Africa and South Asia Pacific and a member of the DHL Global Forwarding, Freight Management Board. Diallo was appointed to this position in June 2008, prior to which he was Chief Financial Officer of the DHL Logistics division in the UK and Managing Director responsible for the integration of the supply chain management company Exel and DHL Logistics.

Amadou Diallo will report to Roger Crook, CEO DHL Global Forwarding, Freight and continue to be part of the DHL Global Forwarding, Freight Executive Board.The Africa and South Asia Pacific region that Amadou managed before will be split and entrusted to Thomas Nieszner, so far CEO DHL Europe/Central and Eastern Europe, and Kevin Leung, CEO DHL Global Forwarding Asia Pacific.
