CEVA appoints new Head of Operations for China

CEVA125Shanghai, China, 5 February, 2013 – CEVA Logistics, one of the world’s leading supply chain companies, has appointed Jaap Bruining as its new Head of Operations for China, effective 1 February, 2013. Jaap will be located in Shanghai and brings eight years of extensive operational experience within CEVA in the Netherlands and Thailand.  Jaap’s career with CEVA began as Global LEAN Director where he developed the approach to applying the LEAN philosophy to CEVA’s global operations and successfully managed the rollout of the LEAN program worldwide. He then took on his current role as Vice President of Operations for Contract Logistics in Thailand. Before joining CEVA, Jaap worked for Booz&Company as a strategy development, project management, and organizational change consultant for two and a half years and prior to that for Shell International Chemicals as a production engineer for four years, both based in the Netherlands.Martin Thaysen, CEVA’s Executive Vice President for China said: “With Jaap, we get a very robust injection of skills which support CEVA’s operational capabilities. Jaap has been involved with the development of a number of CEVA processes and tools, including LEAN, Zero Defect Start-up (ZDS) and other operational systems. With his background in both strategy and operations, he brings a good mix of understanding customers’ overall needs, the market and operational execution.   Jaap’s experience and leadership track record will be a great contribution to CEVA’s China team, and I really look forward to working with Jaap.”

Jaap finished his MBA program from INSEAD in 2001 and holds a double MSC in Biochemistry and Chemical Engineering from University of Groningen.
