CEVA announces two year contract renewal with Renault in Brazil

CEVA125São Paulo, Brazil, 26 March, 2012 – CEVA Logistics, one of the world’s leading supply chain companies, has signed a two year contract extension with Renault in Brazil for the receipt, storage and consolidation of automotive parts for export to France, Argentina, Mexico, Romania, Colombia and South America. The operations will be conducted in a dedicated 4,000 sq m area of CEVA’s site in São José dos Pinhais, Parana, with 17 employees shipping over 240,000 cubic meters of parts each year.

CEVA and Renault have been working together in Brazil since 2002, where the logistics operator provides a range of different supply chain solutions for the automotive giant, with key partnerships also in France, Spain, Italy and Argentina.

For Mauricio Leonel, Business Development Manager for CEVA’s Automotive sector in Brazil, the key factors in the renewal of this contract were superior supply chain management methods focused on driving flawless execution, as well as a motivated, dedicated team.  “Our ability to offer Renault a solution that has the potential to increase their productivity has helped reinforce CEVA’s leadership in the Automotive sector in Brazil,” said Leonel.

According to Claudemir Bozza, Operations Manager, Renault in Brazil, the contract renewal is testament to CEVA’s commitment to delivering quality service. CEVA is the only Renault provider to receive the UET certification – Unity Station of Work. This document certifies that CEVA has implemented a management tool that standardizes the operation of a particular activity in relation to the production of goods and services, and was granted by Renault after an extensive audit. “The handling and storage of the products require special care and expertise, and this is why we have entrusted CEVA to continue running our operations, as well as awarding the logistics operator the UET Certification for excellence in quality service provision,” explained Claudemir.

The operation uses visual organization and management tools, with screens that display online updates about the operation’s performance, the volume of vehicles arrived and dispatched in addition to key performance indicators on quality and productivity. The system allows real-time visibility of all activities by line employees, CEVA’s management and most importantly, Renault.
