PostNL’s MijnPakket service: A personal overview of all your online purchases (in time for your Christmas shopping too!)

Shopping online made even easier

22 November 2011 at 10:00 CET – PostNL is introducing “MijnPakket” (My Parcel), a new service giving online shoppers greater control and choice for orders that will be delivered by PostNL Parcels. MijnPakket gives shoppers an overview of all their online purchases. The new service also stores address and delivery preferences so that online shoppers no longer need to fill in those details for every webshop individually. This makes purchasing online even easier.

MijnPakket gives every online shopper a complete overview of orders that will be delivered by PostNL Parcels, as well as the expected delivery time. All the shopper needs to do is fill in a profile – just once – giving their various delivery preferences. Preferred addresses can be the shopper’s home or work address, the next-door neighbours, or any other address in the Netherlands, but also one of the PostNL’s post offices. Shoppers can also indicate the preferred method of payment for online purchases.

If the shopper selects PostNL Checkout for the webshops that participate in the system, all his or her personal preferences will automatically be inserted and displayed during the process of ordering. All the shopper then needs to do is indicate when and where the parcel should be delivered.

PostNL Checkout is now available for every webshop operator. Webshops that utilise the MijnWinkel (My Shop) software already have a link to PostNL Checkout, meaning that they can immediately have PostNL activate PostNL Checkout.

Availability

As of today, every online shopper can create a profile at mijnpakket.nl. Adding an order to the profile will immediately bring up an overview of all the shopper’s online purchases. Boeties and X-Only are the first of a growing number of webshops to utilise PostNL Checkout.

With these new services, PostNL is taking account of the wishes of online shoppers and webshop owners for greater choice and influence regarding the delivery of online purchases. Gerrit Mastenbroek, Managing Director of PostNL Parcels explains: “As a partner in e-commerce, we can see how the consumer is playing an increasingly important role, and – as the market leader – we wish to key into that development.”
