Salas to manage large-scale complex logistics movements across all sectors |
Madrid, Spain, 28 June 2011 – CEVA Logistics, a leading global supply chain management company, has announced the appointment of Miguel Salas as Freight Management Project Cargo Manager in Iberia. This newly-created position makes CEVA one of the few logistics operators in Iberia to centralize the management of special and large cargo projects to offer added value to customers who need to transport goods that present unique challenges, such as being over size or over standard weight. In this role, Miguel will focus particularly on the civil engineering and energy sectors, which have an increasing requirement for the movement of large and complex machinery. Miguel will be in charge of controlling logistics for wind farms, desalination and water treatment plants, bio-fuel or bio-mass, as well as other energy sources. Miguel Salas has extensive experience in logistics, especially in managing large-volume operations. During his career, he has worked for several shipping companies, such as Maritime, Company 94 and Naviera del Odiel. More recently he was Commercial Director for FCL Iberia, an oceanfreight company , and held the position of Big Accounts and Operations Manager at Transcontinental Forwarding, a specialist in the development and execution of project cargo shipments and large turnkey projects around the world.
