Logistics operator consolidates leadership in the two-wheel vehicle sector in Italy
Milan, Italy, 16 March 2011 – CEVA Logistics, a leading global supply chain management company, has signed a two year contract with Husqvarna Motorcycles, part of the BMW Group, for which CEVA will handle key logistics activities in the customer’s 1,200 sq m warehouse at the Biandronno plant in the Province of Varese.
Under the contract CEVA will manage Husqvarna personnel who are dedicated to the receiving and warehousing of original motorcycle components and supplying them in to production.
The agreement with Husqvarna is another in a series of CEVA partnerships with preeminent companies in the motorcycle sector, further strengthening CEVA’s leadership position in Italy for managing components and finished products in this industry. CEVA’s expertise in this sector and its ability to respond to the specific needs of individual customers, designing innovative, tailor-made solutions for all phases of the production and distribution chain, will be a strong asset in supporting Husqvarna’s growth and development strategies.
As a strategic partner, CEVA will be able to increase the efficiency of all supply chain activities, offering valued-added solutions that will ensure total visibility and control of orders through the management of the information systems that aid process planning and monitoring.

As part of Husqvarna’s operating model they have leased their logistics business unit to CEVA for the duration of the two year contract, handing over total responsibility for the management of their employees and the operation. This decision is recognition of CEVA’s expertise in the field and is a way to accelerate true integration and the effectiveness of logistics activities.
