SCALA’s Fresh Connection 2012 Competition launched with a bang this week at Foodex and Food and Drink Expo.
SCALA’s Fresh Connection competition cube was in full swing as attendees and exhibitors filled the area to play the interactive development sessions. Others watched from the outside to catch a glimpse of the intense atmosphere.
This business training and development programme, which was last year won by Mars, promotes learning through experience by presenting real-life business scenarios that build awareness of supply chain strategy and teamwork. Competing in speed Fresh Connection sessions, participants experienced the supply chain and logistics development tool’s potential. The lucky top performers from the launch even won a weekend trip away courtesy of De Vere Village Hotels.
Alongside the cube, the Fresh Connection team held conference versions of the competition at the Foodex Logistics Stage. Captivating the audience with an interactive session, the Fresh Connection was a talking point of the exhibition.
John Perry, SCALA Managing Director said: ‘The Fresh Connection launch was a great success. Everyone at Foodex enjoyed themselves and hopefully got a taste for the development tool. 2012 is set to be our biggest year yet.’
The SCALA road show is about to commence as the Fresh Connection team travel to different UK cities to deliver the 2 Day Competition Events. Beginning in Watford and continuing onto Manchester, Birmingham, Farnborough, and Leeds until the end of May, it is set to be a busy period for the team. All participants will then gather on the 13th June to take part in the SCALA Fresh Connection Final, alongside the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Annual Conference.
