CSCMP to Host Workshop Featuring World-Renowned Creator of Store-Level Distribution Resource Planning

CSCMP125Lombard, Illinois USA (February 13, 2013)–The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) will host an educational workshop on store-level distribution resource planning (DRP), March 25-26, 2013, at the organization’s headquarters in Lombard, Illinois. The two-day event will be conducted by André Martin, co-founder of collaborative flowcasting and chief executive officer of RedPrairie Flowcasting Group, LLC, and Mike Doherty, co-author of Flowcasting the Retail Supply Chain. Martin is widely acknowledged as the “father of DRP.”

The Store-Level Distribution Resource Planning workshop will focus on the benefits of single consumer demand forecasting, eliminating unnecessary forecasting by collaborating with trading partners, and reducing operating costs while increasing on-shelf availability. The seminar is designed for retailers and their consumer-packaged goods (CPGs) manufacturer trading partners at the director level and above.

DRP is a tool that promotes forecast collaboration between manufacturers and suppliers. A gap was discovered that revealed a disconnect between manufacturers and retailers when the flow of products was driven across the distribution channels that supported their factories. This adversely affected demand forecasting and replenishment systems, however, organizations were able to fill this gap and achieve greater levels of efficiencies and increased profits through store-level DRP implementation.

CSCMP’s Store-Level Distribution Resource Planning workshop will not only provide global supply chain management professionals with the latest information on DRP, it will also offer them the opportunity to network with and learn from their peers. Attendees will leave the event with the guidelines and knowledge to help them successfully implement store-level DRP in their own organizations.

To register for the workshop, visit CSCMP members receive 40% off the regular workshop rate. Young professionals (those age 30 and under) receive 55% off; student members receive more than 60% off. Attendees receive an additional $100 US off the registration rate if they register on or before February 25, 2013.
