Con-way Multimodal Implements McLeod Software’s PowerBroker™ Trucking Software

Leading Brokerage Industry Technology Platform Improves Visibility and Scales to Accommodate Added Functionality and Growth

AURORA, Ill. – January 04, 2011

Con-way Multimodal, a division of Con-way Inc. (NYSE: CNW), today announced it has implemented McLeod Software’s PowerBroker™ Trucking Software platform as its new brokerage system solution. The new platform automates critical business functions and strengthens the company’s Web presence for integration and automation of their interactions with carriers, shippers, agents and public load boards.

Through PowerBroker’s secure Web portal, Con-way Multimodal’s customers and carrier network gain visibility into the entire transit process. Customers can access accurate, timely status information about loads as well as relevant and important documents, while benefiting from quicker quote times and improved invoice processing. Carriers gain improved visibility to available loads, load history and payments, as well as performance reports from Con-way Multimodal.

“Adopting PowerBroker is a critical step toward providing better, faster and more efficient service for our customers, carriers and brokers,” said Tommy Barnes, president, Con-way Multimodal. “This platform enables Con-way Multimodal to get the right information to our customers and carriers when they need it. Plus, our brokers can leverage the system to make more informed decisions about the best business opportunities to pursue. PowerBroker is the perfect solution for Con-way Multimodal and positions us for success.”

“We are pleased to have contributed to the progress Con-way Multimodal has made with this investment in their brokerage business,” said Tom McLeod, president and CEO, McLeod Software. “Con-way Multimodal’s adoption of our workflow, document imaging, EDI, and rapid alert products to automate functions like load confirmations, rendition billing, credit requests and payments is giving them a competitive edge. We believe the company’s new level of business process automation and their enhanced web presence, both enabled by the PowerBroker software suite, will contribute to profitability and growth in their business for years to come.”

Specifically, PowerBroker enables increased load board functionality with major load posting providers, integrating with TransCore Connexion for fast and efficient data searching and posting to the DAT® Network. The software includes imaging workflow and built-in business intelligence with Microsoft SQL Server reporting services, increasing information at the desk level and speed in decision making.
