On May 1, 2012, Angela Titzrath will start in her new role at Deutsche Post DHL as the Group’s Board Member for Personnel and Labor Director. Titzrath – latterly a member of the Managing Board at EvoBus GmbH, a subsidiary of Daimler AG – will succeed Walter Scheurle. After twelve successful years on the Board of Management of Deutsche Post DHL, Scheurle will be stepping down at the end of April and will serve as an adviser to the company until he retires.
“I have great respect for everything that Walter Scheurle has accomplished at the Group,” said Frank Appel, CEO of Deutsche Post DHL. “During his career of almost 45 years at the company – the last twelve years on the Board of Management – Mr. Scheurle, with his dedication and personality, helped to shape different parts of the company in a crucial way. I would like to express my tremendous gratitude – also on behalf of our approximately 470,000 employees – for his long years of service as well as his very successful and extremely constructive contributions to the Group.”
Angela Titzrath, whose appointment to the Deutsche Post DHL Board of Management was approved by the Supervisory Board in December of last year, has held a number of executive positions in the Daimler Group over the past 20 years. Latterly she was a member of the Managing Board at EvoBus GmbH and the company’s Head of Marketing, Sales and Aftersales as well as a member of the Management Board of the Daimler Bus division. Prior to this position, as Vice President Executive Management Development at Daimler AG she was responsible for designing, implementing and managing all HR development programs for Daimler’s top management and the staffing for the Daimler Group around the world.
In this role, Angela Titzrath was also in charge of the Marketing and Recruiting activities for young executives, and headed the Expatriate Management department, as well as the company’s Corporate Academy. From 1991 to 2005, Angela Titzrath worked in various positions for the company in Germany, Italy, Canada and Spain. She attended universities in Bochum (Germany), Perugia (Italy), and Coimbra (Portugal) and has degrees in economics and roman philology.
“We are truly delighted to have such an experienced executive and proven human-resources expert as Angela Titzrath joining our Board of Management,” Frank Appel said. “With her vast expertise and broad experience, Ms. Titzrath is perfectly capable of successfully driving our efforts to become an employer of choice around the world.”
