New “Going green” stamp series presented to sustainable sailors

1 September 2011 at 18:00 CET – On Thursday 1 September in Enkhuizen, North Holland, PostNL presented the new series of stamps entitled “Going green” to the sailors Florian Dirkse and Arjen van Eijk, who completed a sustainable round-the-world sailing trip lasting two years.

The stamps illustrate today’s approach to thinking and acting green, showing the fine, green initiatives being taken in the Netherlands. The stamps feature tips to encourage people to go green in their daily lives, such as setting the washing machine to 30 degrees an eating organic food.

This going green attitude is something shared by sailors Florian Dirkse and Arjen van Eijk. One of their aims is to inspire people to care for the oceans and the world in a green way. As going green ambassadors they were presented with the new stamps by Katja Veen-Buchholz, Consumer Market Manager at PostNL.
