LeanLogistics Awarded Top 20 Green Supply Chain Partners

Food Logistics Presents First Listing of Green Supply Chain Partners

5/26/2011

Holland, Mich., – LeanLogistics, a global solutions provider of transportation management system (TMS) applications and supply chain services, has been recognized as a Top 20 Green Supply Chain Partner by the editors of Food Logistics magazine.

For the first time, the editors of Food Logistics recognized solution providers of pioneering, innovative and creative products, services and programs to help their food and beverage customers achieve sustainable or “green” goals.

“LeanLogistics is dedicated to reducing the carbon footprint of the transportation industry and developing sustainable solutions,” said Matt Ahearn, president of LeanLogistics. “It’s an honor to be recognized for green initiatives, such as GreenLanes™ freight optimization, where participated shippers can expect to decrease their empty miles through collaborative transportation strategies.”

The LeanLogistics Transportation Network provides members preferred buy/sell positions relative to market activity. The net effect of GreenLanes is shippers reduce their empty miles and overall transportation costs, while carriers increase asset utilization and earn higher levels of profitability. Shippers, carriers and the global community benefit from less empty miles as well as cost savings.

“Sustainable best practices are not only better for the environment, but contribute to the bottom line as well,” says Katherine Doherty, editor-in-chief of Food Logistics magazine. “Our recipients are helping the industry to reduce their carbon impact in a variety of ways.”

Food Logistics is the only publication exclusively dedicated to the grocery and foodservice distribution supply chain. After receiving nomination forms from solution providers, the editorial staff culled through submissions to compile this year’s listing. Final recipients are featured in the June 2011 issue of Food Logistics, as well as online at www.foodlogistics.com.
