Ralf-Günter Kloß set to beef up the senior management team as of July 1 (Mainz, July 1, 2012) Effective July 1, 2012, the transfer of all shares in TFG Transfracht to Deutsche Bahn will become legally valid. The operations of Europe’s largest provider of seaport hinterland transportation services will then be controlled by DB Schenker Rail. Until this date, 50 percent of the shares will remain in the hands of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA). In return for assigning its shareholding to TFG, HHLA will take over DB’s minority holding in Metrans and Polzug. The conditions required by the antitrust authorities for the takeover of TFG Transfracht by Deutsche Bahn were approved on June 15.
The restructuring of TFG’s senior management is scheduled to begin as of July 1. A new Operations function is to be added to the current divisions of Finance/Controlling and Marketing/Sales, for which Ralf-Günter Kloß will now assume responsibility. Kloß is currently the Managing Director of DB Intermodal Services GmbH; he will perform the duties of both positions simultaneously.
Axel Marschall, the Member of the Management Board of DB Schenker Rail responsible for Sales: “By taking over the management control of the company and with the new management structure, we will be able to improve operations at TFG and link up with the DB Schenker Rail network.“
