Professional Truck Drivers and their employers were recognized for their exceptional commitment to the safety of the driving public April 21 in Topeka. Representing over 240 years of experience and more than 26 million miles of safe driving during their careers, 12 drivers were chosen as Drivers of the Month.

In addition to being chosen as a Driver of the Month, Greg Hladky, Frito Lay Transportation, Inc, Topeka, KS was chosen as Driver of the Year for 2011. Greg has logged over three million miles during his career without an accident.
Fleet safety contest entrants accumulated 135 million miles traveled on Kansas highways in 2010 with an accident ratio of .39 per million miles. Winners of the fleet safety contest included:

Jim Mitten Trucking, Inc was the overall Fleet Safety Contest award winner, having zero accidents in 2009 and 2010. Their trucks traveled over a million miles in Kansas, and increased their mileage by 24% in 2010.
Rodney Glassner, Con-way Freight, Ann Arbor, MI, was chosen as the Safety Professional of the Year. This is the first time Rodney has been chosen for the award.
This annual ceremony hosted by the Safety Management Council of the Kansas Motor Carriers Association recognizes drivers and their companies for their constant commitment to the safety of our roadways. Winners are selected by a panel of judges from the Kansas Highway Patrol, Kansas Corporation Commission and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
