Geodis has acquired MF Cargo, a transport business serving FMCG and Retail clients in Hungary with a proprietary truck fleet. MF Cargo is complementary to Geodis Hungary, being a frequent transport subcontractor for Geodis for key clients.
With the acquisition of MF Cargo, Geodis achieves several objectives:
– respond to local market demand and reinforce the client portfolio,
– develop a true national distribution network in Hungary while improving Geodis’s capabilities for transporting international flows among the countries adjoining the
European Union,
– position Geodis among the Top 3 logistics service providers in Hungary,
– become the local leader in FMCG and Retail logistics.
Jean-Louis Demeulenaere, CEO of Geodis, concluded: “I am very pleased with this acquisition. It advances our strategic priorities and enables us to broaden our capabilities
with specific expertise and assets that will attract key clients in Hungary and more generally in Eastern and central Europe.”
