Bonn, 03/15/2012, 03:00 PM CET – With the new DHL Vision Suite, we display how the world of tomorrow with its challenges for the logistics industry may look like.
DHL today inaugurates the DHL Vision Suite at its DHL Innovation Center near Bonn in Germany. The launch of the cutting edge multi-dimensional projection room takes place as part of the DHL Innovation Day 2012 which features discussions and presentations on trends and future logistics and transportation developments.
Petra Kiwitt, Executive Vice President of Solutions & Innovation at Deutsche Post DHL, explains: “Our DHL Innovation Center serves as platform for communication and development between experts from the academic, industrial and technological field to find answers for the questions in the world of tomorrow. With the new DHL Vision Suite, we take this concept a step further and display how the world of tomorrow with its challenges for the logistics industry may look like.”
Vision Suite: multi-dimensional viewing experience
The Vision Suite will provide a view into relevant future topics and their impact on the world in general, and on logistics in particular.
The Vision Suite features five advanced projectors that create a multi-dimensional viewing experience of film clips, animations or presentations. The content of the different scenarios which will be shown in the Vision Suite has been developed jointly by DHL’s innovation department and its Innovation Partners like SAP, DLR, Fraunhofer Institutes and Biba. The Vision Suite will provide a view into relevant future topics and their impact on the world in general, and on logistics in particular. For the launch day, the findings of Deutsche Post DHL’s recently published paper ‘Logistics 2050: A scenario study’ will be brought to life in the suite.
An additional highlight of the DHL Innovation Day will be the DHL Innovation Award ceremony 2012. Deutsche Post DHL honors outstanding ideas and solutions for future logistics within four categories: most innovative customer, most innovative junior scientist, most innovative employee and senior scientist for lifetime achievements.
