CEVA signs international transportation contract with Levi’s

São Paulo, Brazil, 20 January 2011 CEVA Logistics, one of the world’s leading supply chain companies, has signed a contract with Levi’s, the pioneer and trendsetting fashion brand with 157 years experience in the global market.

Under the contract, CEVA will transport clothing from 20 distribution points across the world to the Levi’s Distribution Center (DC) in Itapevi, São Paulo. CEVA will also manage international transportation procedures, customs clearance for imports and delivery at the DC. “We started with 30% of the total volume of Levi’s imports for Brazil and today we are responsible for 60% of the total items brought to the country,” said Wagner Covos, CEVA’s Vice President of Business and Marketing Development.

“At CEVA, we take into account that each and every customer needs a specific and responsive service and we make sure we provide this. It is for this reason we have created programs and processes such as Zero Defect in Start-Ups (ZDS) – a rigorous methodology for project management to ensure the satisfaction of the customer. In addition, we have teams of experts who provide best practice from across the world which means we can offer proven solutions to our customers,” added Covos.

With the production plans being developed in four different continents with multiple origins, the managing of international transportation processes is critical to ensure timely delivery to the DC in Brazil.

Marcia Lumatti, Levi’s Logistics Manager for Brazil comments: “This partnership with CEVA plays an essential role in aligning operations in Brazil as well as standardizing its manufacturing processes with Levi’s worldwide.”
