CEVA to centralize spare parts logistics operations
At this location, CEVA will handle the spare parts for agricultural and construction machines equipped with Carraro’s axles and transmissions and for tractors produced by Carraro’s Agritalia division based in Rovigo, managing the unloading, storage, picking, packaging and preparation of shipments to Carraro’s final customers across the world, handling approximately 37,000 items for more than 200,000 anticipated orders each year. CEVA, whose approach is based on Operations Excellence, will also offer high added value solutions, such as kitting services for the assembly and disassembly activities.
CEVA will provide Carraro with its expertise and project management capabilities in order to improve the customer’s spare parts logistics process, previously managed across two sites, within a single warehouse, thus optimizing the activities. A dedicated area of 6,600 sq m area within the hub of Monselice will be set aside for Carraro’s operations, with flexibility of space to respond to and accommodate the customer’s changing needs over the time. A surface area of 600 sq m will also host offices for Carraro’s personnel. In addition, the logistics operator will provide an advanced and efficient Warehouse Management System capable of fully integrating and interacting with the information system already used by the customer.
Marino Roberto, After Sales and Spare Parts Director of Carraro Drive Tech, said: “We chose to work with CEVA because we believe the operator will be a strategic partner, thanks to its solid experience in the Industrial sector and in particular in the management of spare parts, both at national and international levels. We are sure they will be able to meet our requirements in an agile, flexible way, supporting us in improving our spare parts supply chain and constantly developing new solutions. In CEVA we found the same focus on innovation and continuous improvement that have always characterized our company, and we consider this a crucial asset in our ability to offer excellent service to Carraro’s customers.”
Antonio Marsilio, Automotive and Industrial Business Development Director, CEVA in Italy, said: “We are extremely proud to have signed a partnership with a leading customer such as Carraro Drive Tech. CEVA doesn’t simply aim to be a mere logistics provider, but a comprehensive partner capable of supporting the customer in the transfer, implementation and continuous improvement of efficient and high quality logistics solutions.
